420 Reasons Why I Hate Dentists

Our youngest had a toothache so we took him to the dentist.
Of course, it was a cavity but they said they could not fill it.
The tooth was not supposed to come out til he was close to 11 years old, they gave us two options…
A "baby root canal" or an extraction with a "spacer".
The term "root canal" conjured up images I would never associate with a five year old so that was out of the question.
They appeared to numb him up, but as they pulled the tooth, it was obvious he was in pain. The screaming made it quite apparent. Who the hell are they to torture my child? It was painfully clear they did not numb the area properly, but they continued to yank and pull until the tooth was out.

We have to return to the scene of the crime in two weeks so they can put the spacer in.
This "spacer" as they call it, is a device which will allegedly keep the space open for his adult tooth to drop into. How much you want to bet his adult tooth doesn't come through in the "assigned space"?
$420 later, I feel violated. I can't imagine how he feels.

I really feel badly for your son. The tooth fairy needs to give him several dollars for that one.
I have a good friend who is a disabled Marine veteran from the Viet Nam conflict. He went to the VA Hospital in Atlanta last week for an aching tooth requiring extraction. They told him to come back in about five days, because they didn't have any anesthesia. There must be a shortage of it or a shortage in people who can do their jobs correctly.
