For 14 years, from 1992 until 2006, this is what Capitol Police saw when Cynthia McKinney bypassed the metal detectors each day:

This is what walked by the metal detectors on Wednesday:

You certainly cannot blame the officer for stopping her.

A lawyer for Rep. Cynthia McKinney, the Georgia congresswoman who had an altercation with a Capitol Police officer, says she was “just a victim of being in Congress while black.”

No, she was just a victim of being in the wrong hair salon at the wrong time. Being black has nothing to do with it.

Her lawyer, James W. Myart Jr., said, “Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin.”

I agree. Cynthia McKinney is a victim of the excessive use of force, although not by law enforcement officials, but rather an over-zealous hairstylist with way too much energy and not nearly enough talent.
