Governor Signs Georgia Voter I.D. Law… Again.

Gov. Sonny Perdue signed the latest version of Georgia's voter identification bill into law on Thursday, sending it to the U.S. Justice Department for the second time in two years.
Perdue acted one day after the House gave final approval to the measure requiring voters to show a driver's license or other government-issued photo identification at the polls.
The bill eliminates most forms of ID that are currently accepted — including Social Security cards, birth certificates and utility bills.
Perdue called it an attempt to crack down on voter fraud in the state.
I don't see any problem with the Department of Justice, since this version of the law is basically identical to the previous version, with two exceptions.
The first exception is that the cards are now free to anyone, not just those who sign a paper saying they can't afford one.
The second exception makes sure there is at least one location in each of Georgia's counties, to ensure everyone can get a FREE I.D.
The problem I do see, is with the whiny babies (aka ACLU and Democrats) who will still try to convince a judge that the new law is nothing more than a poll tax, or that it discriminates against poor, elderly and minority voters.
Will it make it past the guantlet? We shall see.
