Georgia House Passes Voter ID Bill

The state House gave its final approval late Wednesday morning to a controversial law that requires voters to show a state-issued photo identification at the polls on Election Day.

The vote was 111-60 in favor of the new bill, which now goes to Gov. Sonny Perdue. Perdue has vowed to sign the measure into law.

First to the House, then to the Senate, then to the House, now on to the Governor… It reminds me of a song

I'm just a bill.
Yes, I'm only a bill.
And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill.
Well, it's a long, long journey
To the capital city.

Boy: If they vote yes, what happens?

Bill: Then I go to the Senate and the whole thing starts all over again.

Boy: Oh no!

Bill: Oh yes!
