We were driving home the other night and we saw a sign.

    “Free Golden Retriever”

We decided to drive by and “see” this golden retriever. From the street we could see her in the pen. By the time we parked, we found out why she was free. She was, literally, free. She climbed out of the pen.

After chatting with her owner for a few minutes, we decided we would give Annie a new home.

The next morning we took her to the vet for a “checkup” and discovered she has heartworm. So much for the “free” dog. By the time we get done paying for the treatment of all her various ailments, she will be a $600 dog.

When we pulled into that driveway the other day, I must have had a sign on my forehead, but we won’t go there.

Annie is here to stay. I will post more pictures she, and Flash, ever hold still long enough to get some more good ones.

    2. Oh wow, she is a gorgeous gir Oh wow, she is a gorgeous girl! You’re like me, a sucker for animals that need a home. That’s probably why I have so many in my house right now. Goldens are great dogs though, for sure. Right now I have a Brittany but my dear friends have a golden and she is great too.

Good luck with your new baby. I hope she is happy with you all.
