What a year it was.

It’s not just that time of the month, it’s a whole new year, so here are the stats, for the entire year.
Over the course of the year 2004, 96,760 unique visitors happened across this site, a few of which became very good friends. It’s amazing, to me at least, that almost 100,000 people came through my doors. Hopefully my fly wasn’t down while they were here.
I had a total of 179,559 visits, 1,217,841 page loads, and 3,460,219 hits throughout the year, and you all helped me waste 51.37 GB of precious internet bandwidth. Thanks!
Over the course of the years (since July of 1997) I have had 737,878 unique visitors, 1,079,918 visits, 3,338,082 page loads, and 8,024,229 hits. This means 13% of the total unique visitors, 17% of the total visits, 36% of the total page loads, and 43% of the total hits came in 2004, making it the banner year for Slobokan’s Site O’ Schtuff.
People came here from all over the world, but the top 5 referring domains (not including .com, .net, .mil, or .edu domains, which always occupy the top 10) were:
Canada
Australia
South Korea
Netherlands
European Union
United Kingdom
Germany
Great Britain
Italy
Spain
That is quite a selection of people and over 70% of them stayed an average of 2-5 minutes. That’s pretty kewl if you ask me.
The top five pages people came to see (excluding the main index) were:
Photos From The Campaign Trail
Speaking of Mentally Challenged
Looking back on the year, I sure am glad I have decided to “change the direction” of the blog. Of course, my compass is screwed up so I have no idea which direction I am going.
The top visiting operating system was Windows at 85%, but the shocker of the year is the fact that while Internet Explorer still enjoys being the top browser, only 69% of my visitors used it. The percentage for December was just 61%. And Firefox (formerly Firebird) easily grabbed up almost 30% of the remaining share. I think 2005 will be a banner year for Firefox.
Almost 70% of you came directly to the site, which must be from “return visits” right? Surely people didn’t just sit there and think, “I wonder what is at slobokan.com”, and then type it in their browsers. A little over 20% came from other websites (not including search engines). The top 10 referring sites (if you discount all the spammers who tried to skew my stats) were:
Movable Type Donors :???:
Of course, Blog Explosion had the most referrals to the site. Which is to be expected but since I surf BE to get hits, I did not count them in the year end stats.
The remaining 10% of visitors came here via the search engines and the top 10 search terms that brought people here in the year 2004 were:
margaret hassan video (sickos)
kim sun-il (same sickos I am sure)
rotten stuff (this makes the category page ranking make sense)
alexandra kerry (I wonder what they were looking for?)
zell miller (awesome)
cnn (again, why do they need to search for it?)
erin feehan-nelson (she’ll be governor some day)
craig fitzhugh (another top page for the year)
free passwords (haha, I got ya!)
millie kondracke (rest in peace, millie)
Thank you all for stopping by over the course of the year. It has been fun, and I am sure 2005 will be an even greater year.
