Traveling Post #1

This election day started with a bang. Okay, it was more like a beep. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. I hate alarm clocks.
I thought everyone was sleeping when I started getting ready, but I soon realized that Gidget had not yet been to sleep. She is a night owl anyway, but she had not gotten any sleep at all, and now she has to deal with the boys all day, on no sleep. And people think I work hard.
I had originally planned to leave for the airport at 4:30, but decided if we left at 5:00 I should be able to make it through security (which is notorious in Atlanta) and to the gate in plenty of time.
I walked up to the curbside check-in agent at 6:10 and I was sitting at the gate by 6:25. Unlike the last time I traveled, no one looked at my laptop and made me “power it up” to prove it was not a bomb. Unlike the last time I traveled, no one searched through my bags garment by garment, and computer cable by computer cable. Unlike the last time I traveled, I have yet to take my shoes off.
I guess I don’t look as suspicious as I used too.
