A thrashing we will go.

Italy’s government wants U.S. President George Bush’s visit to Rome to be a “thanksgiving” for allied help in a war that ended 60 years ago. But many Italians want to give Bush a drubbing for an unwanted war raging today.

How many of you know what a drubbing is? A drubbing is a thrashing, with a stick. Shouldn’t they be focusing thier energies on Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein for the “unwanted war raging today”?

That is the dilemma facing Italy’s politicians and police forces as they prepare for a visit taking place in the shadow of the Iraq war and a growing pacifist movement.

A growing pacifist movement? How many of you know what a pacifist is? Being a pacifist means you oppose war or violence as a means of resolving disputes.

Terrorists without blame, and pacifists who carry sticks to thrash people with. What is this world coming too?
