Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have stepped up their insider-trading investigation of Martha Stewart, reinterviewing witnesses and meeting with her lawyers in recent weeks, according to sources close to the case.

Oh, I can see it now (thanks to someone on the internet of course) …

I sure wish I could trade my HONOR for a place in the BASEBALL HALL OF FAME…

Pete Rose has indicated to baseball commissioner Bud Selig that he’s willing for the first time to admit he bet on baseball, apologize for denying it the past 13 years and even to serve a probationary period, according to a friend of the all-time hit king.

Did anyone actually believe him? Oh yes, I bet someone did.

Rose’s new conciliatory stance during negotiations sets the stage for his reinstatement to the game and likely paves the way for his entrance into the Hall of Fame next year, providing the voters can forgive quicker than he apologized.

    I got an idea. Let’s don’t.

Students rioted at Montwood High School Wednesday morning.

Okay, personally, I think some over zealous news reporter over-reacted.

Students reportedly walked out of class at about 9:30 a.m. to protest the school’s decision to shift to block scheduling for the 2003-2004 school year.

Police said they asked the students to return to class and the students refused.

In my younger days, I think we called this a “sit-out”. Hmmm. Oh, wait…

Officers say students threw rocks and bottles at them, injuring one officer’s hand. Police said they did use some mace.

I am sure the students did not start throwing things first.

The El Paso Police Department said the disturbance qualifies as a riot. They also said no children were injured and 11 arrests have been made.

The key word here dingbats, err, officers, is CHILDREN. Sheesh.

Susan Sarandon used the premiere of her new film to criticise Tony Blair and his relationship with President Bush.

What a nice way to celebrate your movie, by acting political again.

Sarandon, wearing a red and black floral dress, purple leather jacket and matching boots said: “I’m tired of being labelled anti-American because I ask questions.”

No dear, we don’t think you are anti-American because you ask questions, we think you are anti-American because you ACT like you are anti-American.

“What’s happened to Blair? I don’t understand his reasoning or his logic. I don’t understand his evolution. I can see him being seduced by (former US President) Clinton but don’t understand what him and Bush speak about.”

Of course you don’t dear. YOU ARE AN ACTRESS. We realize this. You should.

    Him and Bush. {chuckle}

Microsoft on Monday added another year of life to its aging Windows NT 4 operating system as the company struggles to convert customers to newer products.

The software giant said it is extending support for Windows NT 4 Server for an additional 12 months. The change means that network administrators will be able to get security patches and “hot fixes” until Dec. 31, 2004. Microsoft had planned to pull the plug on these and other updates later this year.

Ahh, pull the plug already. :wink

A-HA! I wake up today and the first thing I notice, is I cannot get to my blog. In fact, at the moment we are currently checking EACH computer in the network (on-site as well as off-site) for an open UDP port 1434 (ms-sql-m). Of course that port should not be open on any of OUR servers, but we are checking just in case, in fact, all of our on-site servers are “clean” so that is a relief. Problem is, our two DNS servers are off-site, so there is a bit of a “blackhole” on our site at the moment (remind me to set up a secondary DNS server on-site asap). Anyway, here are some links for you regarding all the problems today:

I tried to post a couple of other entries today, but instead I ended up arguing with AT&T all day. You see, I have an older 3Com US Robotics Cable Modem with FIVE lights on it. Each light tells me something (as expected). Light #1 is Cable Modem POWER, Light #2 is Cable Modem STATUS, Light #3 is PC ink STATUS, Light #4 is PC Link ACTIVITY and Light #5 is Cable Modem ACTIVITY. For over two years, the ACTIVITY lights did not blink if there was none. IE: If you were not doing anything on the internet, the ACTIVITY lights would seldomly flicker (I am sure the occasional flicker was from the modem checking to make sure there was still a PC connection. Anyway, today, the modem ACTIVITY light blinks CONTSTANTLY and even stays on for extended periods of time even when there is NO PC connected to the modem. IE: there is activity on the modem NOT coming from my system (the PC Link Activity light is OFF). Well, after two and a half hours of “discussions” with the technical support “stiff” “staff”, they have come to the conclusion that nothing is wrong and I DO NOT HAVE five lights on my modem and the ACTIVITY light (that they say does not exist) was not working for TWO YEARS and suddenly started working. (HA, Yeah, right). I will post a pic of my cable modem later so you can all see 5 LIGHTS haha.

I am sure there is something brewing on the net, my router does not show any incoming packets from anywhere, so it has to be something on the AT&T system. We shall see. Have a good night.

    01. Finish your immediate tasks.
    02. Slowly stand up.
    03. Move calmly toward the exit.
    04. If you are the first one to arrive, please open the door.
    05. Hold the door for others trying to escape as well.
    06. Exit the area.

If the Pentagon sticks to its current war plan, one day in March the Air Force and Navy will launch between 300 and 400 cruise missiles at targets in Iraq. As CBS News Correspondent David Martin reports, this is more than number that were launched during the entire 40 days of the first Gulf War.

    Wake up moron.
